(Nov 29) A large sinkhole is slowing traffic at Camino De La Tierra and Avenida Isabel on the Southwest side in Tuscon, Arizona. A 24-inch water main broke overnight, causing the road to crumble near Miller Elementary School. (Source)

(Nov 29) All that rain has caused a sinking feeling in Cleveland. The water rushed in, the pavement cracked, and the ground gave way. A sinkhole formed Monday during the heavy rains in the parking lot of Merita Bakery Outlet and grew bigger throughout the last 24 hours. (Source)

(Nov 29) A D&J Construction worker was found dead after his track hoe got caught in a sinkhole off Louisiana 3033. The equipment, with the worker trapped inside, was almost completely buried. (Source)

(Nov 28) The sinkhole in the west Gastonia area in North Carolina engulfed the front of the Allied Waste Services truck nearly up to its headlights. (Source)

(Nov 23) Gatineau police in Ottawa, Canada have closed off the intersection of St. Joseph Boulevard and Charron Street because of a sinkhole that could lead to a road collapse. Read more HERE.

(Nov 23) Giovanni Long, 16, fell several feet and was under water for about 15 seconds as he tried to claw his way out of a hole 6 feet deep and 10 feet wide as he was walking in Kleinwood, a suburb northwest of downtown Houston. “Everything beneath me crumbled,” he told the website after the Monday afternoon incident. “I didn’t know what to do.” Read more HERE.

(Nov 19) Sinkholes continue to plague Georgetown in South Carolina. A newly formed sinkhole swallowed part of the office building adjacent to U.S. Highway 17. Read more HERE.

(Nov 16) The slow-moving landslide has left that part of California Road looking like an earthquake hit. A cliff in San Pedro is falling into the Pacific Ocean, taking a two-lane road with it. Chunks of concrete and asphalt are crumbling, leaving large gashes in the road. Police have blocked off the area to both cars and gawkers. The first cracks appeared last spring. (Nov 1) In the last five years, the number of sinkhole claims in Florida has jumped from 2,000 to 6,000, according to a 2010 report from the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation. Read more HERE. (Nov 9) A 60-foot wide sinkhole opens up near a Leesburg strip mall. This part of Florida has been plagued by sinkholes. Read more HERE.

(Nov 1) Almost 40 holes between five and eight metres wide appeared in a north-end of Quebec’s Charlesbourg district . The holes were mostly found in a field, but another was in a resident’s driveway. One is big enough to fit a car. Read more HERE.
