Disaster Chain Reaction: Heavy Rainfall can cause Huge Earthquakes

Hurricanes and typhoons could contribute to other natural disasters that occur long after the heavy rain and fierce winds subside. A new study finds a link between earthquakes and tropical storms, and shows that they may have actually initiated some major temblors.  By dumping rain and causing landslides, these storms can change the weight of the Earth in tectonically-stressed regions, releasing loads that had been keeping the faults locked in tight. The result is that faults already under pressure seem more likely to break in the years after very wet rain events.

The devastating magnitude 7.0 earthquake that hit Haiti in early 2010 came only 18 months after Haiti had been deluged by several hurricanes and tropical storms.  And another large earthquake, a magnitude 6.4 temblor that rocked Taiwan in 2009, occurred only seven months after the area had been hit by Typhoon Morakot, which dropped 9.5 feet (2.9 meters) of rain in five days. Hurricanes are called typhoons in parts of Asia. The study studies is tied to the theory of hydroseismicity, first put forth in 1987, that suggests a link between localized variations in rainfall and seismic activity.

Extreme rainstorms and snowfalls have grown substantially stronger and scientists for the first time are finding the telltale fingerprints of man-made global warming on downpours that often cause deadly flooding.  For years scientists have said global warming would likely cause extremes in temperatures and rainfall. But this is the first time researchers have been able to point to a demonstrable cause-and-effect by using the rigorous and scientifically accepted method of looking for the “fingerprints” of human-caused climate change. Even if we dramatically curbed emissions of greenhouse gases, these downpours will still increase, but by only a little more than 20 percent. This happens because warmer air holds more moisture. This fact is apparent when you see water vapor hanging in the air after turning off a hot shower. When warm air holding moisture meets cooler air, the moisture condenses into tiny droplets that float in the air. If the drops get bigger and become heavy enough, they fall as precipitation. 2011 now the wettest year for most cities in the United States and the list is growing. (Source) For the past few years, many countries have experienced heavy rains and epic floodings. Climate change will make drought and flooding events like those that have battered the United States and other countries in 2011 more frequent, forcing nations to rethink the way they cope with disasters. Researchers are now far more confident about the prospect of more intense heat waves and heavy downpours than they are about how global warming is affecting hurricanes and tornadoes. (Source)

END TIMES TRUTH

This is not doomsday fear mongering – the world is facing a new reality of extreme weather. Experts are using terms like “disaster triggering disaster”, “disaster chain reaction”, “domino effect” as they put the puzzle pieces together. Many have begun to see not just isolated events but a common theme pointing to a dying planet, one plagued by natural and man-made disasters.  When the puzzle pieces are in the right places, a clearer picture will begin to emerge.

Remember that all things are interconnected for a PURPOSE.  To understand why this planet is destined for destruction, you must gain wisdom and understanding because knowledge itself is not enough. Seek Yahweh in the name of Christ because only our Creator can give you the Spirit of wisdom and understanding.

Wisdom must be given by Yahweh: Is your heart receptive?
